Cleveland-bred, Brooklyn-living crooner Lorenzo Asher returns to the DopeHouse with the first single off his upcoming project, Tsukuyomi. Featuring Boston’s Michael Christmas, “Liverpool” is the result of a recent shroom-filled conversation with friends about tantric sex.
“I was with a bunch of my true hippy friends in Laurel Canyon, and they were putting me on to a new wave—a feel good wave,” Asher told FADER. “It was also the first time I had ever tried shrooms. We were at homie’s house —who happens to do one of the character voices for Nickelodeons’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series—and my friend Kita was telling me about tantric love making. I just started jamming out on the piano singing the song.”
